Not a symbol of returning to the same form, but of becoming something else.
Pola Babicka is a visual artist born in Paris and based in Warsaw. Working with installation, objects and new media, she explores how matter, meanings and systems transform over time. Her practice moves between the organic and technological, memory and speculation, the found and the constructed.
Fenix is the origin story behind the practice: an idea of transformation rather than disappearance. Things, memories and previous forms do not simply end. They can return altered, enter new systems and acquire new meanings. This logic later developed into Artcycling - a method of keeping matter, ideas and experience in circulation.
